Commemorating the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar, as well as one of Britain’s greatest heroes in Admiral Lord Nelson, the 56th Edinburgh Tattoo adopted a distinctly maritime flavour. 2005 also marked the return to the castle esplanade of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines with over 150 musicians and a crack squad of commandos.
Show stopping turns were provided by the dazzling Russian Cossack State Dance Company while The Imps motorcycle display team showcased their high octane skills. Summer sounds of the Caribbean were provided by the Trinidad & Tobagan steel band, precision drills by The Guard of His Majesty The King of Norway and of course the familiar and stirring sight of the Lone Piper atop the castle ramparts.
Contains a 30-minute special feature, The Tattoo's Salute to Australia.
Tattoo DVDs will play in any country.
