Packed full of both British and overseas acts, the 59th edition of the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo in 2008 celebrated 100 years of the Territorial Army. Beginning with the traditional and stirring sight of the Massed Pipes & Drums marching forth from Edinburgh Castle, in this year the ranks were filled with, amongst others, the 1st Royal Tank Regiment, The Royal Highland Fusiliers, The Royal Gurkha Rifles and the Rats of Torbruk Memorial Pipes & Drums.
From around the world, the 2008 Tattoo played host to, from the USA, the Golden Eagles Marching Band, the Indian Army Chief’s Military Band and from Norway, His Majesty the King’s Guards Band and Drill Team. All of these exciting acts and more, live from the beautiful floodlit esplanade of Edinburgh Castle.
